Sunflower Pellets

Description

Sunflower pellets are a byproduct of oil extraction from sunflower seeds, consisting of compressed, fibrous pellets rich in protein and fiber, used as animal feed.

Shipping and Storage

Sunflower pellets are shipped in bulk or bags. Store in dry, well-ventilated areas, protected from moisture to prevent mold and caking.

Risk Management

Handling is generally low risk, but dust control and use of PPE such as dust masks and gloves are recommended during bulk handling to minimize respiratory irritation.

Dust

Sunflower pellet dust can cause mild irritation to the eyes, skin, and respiratory tract during bulk transfer. Adequate dust suppression and PPE are advisable.

Explosion Risk

Sunflower pellets are not combustible under normal conditions, but as with other organic powders, fine dust can form explosive mixtures with air if ignited in confined spaces. Minimize dust and avoid ignition sources.
